YAYY FOR TAIWAN!!!!!!!!!!!(:(:

so, let me tell you a story. we went to go visit some members on Saturday because they said that there was going to be a holiday for the aboriginal Taiwanese people.... and we were like... can  we meet you friends? and they said of course! And we will feed you dinner and you can see our traditional clothes and dancing.......

And so it was a deal. and then we went and they had games going on and we got to try on the clothes!!!!!! but we had to leave before the dancing. but i am sure it was so cool.

so here i am.... i felt like a princess!! so fun (: but so expensive. we asked how much it would cost for them to make them for us.... and then said approx. $700-800 american dollars....after the conversions......wow.

i don't think i have worn anything that expensive in my life. we were very very careful.

let me tell you, not just everyone gets this experience. i feel so lucky!! it was only last weekend.... and we knew the right people.

it is so funny because the boys "skirts" are shorter than the girls skirts. haha, they also had this rite of passage ritual thing.... the boys of certain ages had to pass all of these tests like fishing.....running..... and basically whatever the "elders" said. pretty cool!

what i love about the aboriginal people is that they focus so much on the family. just like our church. just like our life. also. there are so many connections with the gospel.

IT IS TRUE. everything testifies of it. and i am sure at one point Jesus must have visited these people.

recently we have been doing a lot of finding because all of our investigators.... fang'ed us. which means stood us up. but thats ok. we are finding lots of NEW great, miracles.

FOR EXAMPLE. the other day we were riding back from the appointment that our investigator fanged us.... and then it started raining... and we were thinking... could there be anything worse? and then right at the stoplight before we went to the family mart to buy the rain ponchos.... there was a miracle waiting for us. and there was a lady sitting there buying some pineapples. and she was smoking.. and whatever. and i said hi! and she was like, are you christian? and i said yes. haha (: and then she proceeds to tell us that she had just said to here sister that she thinks she needs to go back to church.... and then we showed. up. she said, wow God really did plan this. And so my companion is like, can we pray for you. and she says yes, please! sister Giles starts praying, asking God to help her feel His love. and then she starts weeping. and well, almost to the point of hysterical  crying,. and we finish the prayer and her eyes are red. and she says, I KNOW GOD LOVES ME. and that was amazing. and she was so happy to get the book of Mormon.

and moments like that make it all worth it. she said she knew it would be hard. but she knew it was something she needed to do. she already knew that she needed to stop smoking and drinking. it was something that she knew wasn't going to help her. and that is the truthfulness of the gospel too.

love you all.
sister walker (:

LOVE

i feel like sister giles and i are really productive together. it is cool. we found a lot of people that needed the gospel this week.

which means. this next week. we help them progress. to have faith in Christ by reading their scriptures, praying and coming to church (:

we are excited.

WE WENT TO THE BEACH LAST PDAY. it was fun (:(:

also. i don't have much to write. but i found out that my love language is quality time. so it is a weakness on a mission. haha

but i guess now that i understand. i can get over it.

in a good way though. you really need to rely on God. because it is hard. TODAY I READ IN THE BOOK OF MORMON..........

MORONI7:43-48

43 And again, behold say unto you that he cannot havefaitand hope, save he shall be meekand lowly of heart.
44 If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptablebefore God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if manbe meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power ofthe Holy Ghost that Jesus is thChrist, he must needs havecharity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; whereforehe must needs have charity.
45 And charity suffereth longand is kindand enviethnot, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is noteasily provokedthinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not ininiquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things,believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity,yare nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleaveunto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things mustfail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endurethforeverand whoso is found possessed of it at the last day,ishall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Fatherwith all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with thislove, which he hath bestowed upon all who are truefollowers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become thesons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be likehim, for we shall sehim as he is; that we may have thishope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
and so.... i am focusing on LOVE. because if we don't have it. all the things that we are doing really don't have meaning. especially for us. we don't change in the end. we just do missionary things.
MIRACLE THIS WEEK!!!!!! we found 13 new investigators!!! what?? that was an amazing miracle from all the finding work we have been doing. also in the ward. on Sunday we had our first ward council ever (: sister Giles and i are the first sister missionaries in the taidong 3rd ward!!!  because we just became a ward from a branch... and also a returned missionary came back to say hello to everyone and visit and also got to baptize this kid that sister Giles has been working with. so amazing. he had worked with him before... and then he came back a year later to baptize him!!! wow.
also they made us oreo balls and they were really really yummy. ((:
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE MOVE CALL

well, i mean zone leaders only have so many privileges... and one of them is to torture you before telling you anything about transfers...... so they call and ask how your day was.. then make you guess then... say you are wrong.. and then make you guess again...... well. finally. we found out. i was the one moving. :( bahhh. so sad. but i think we all knew that was coming. i could feel like it was time to go too. :(

it was a really great week... and that always seems to happen (:(: you get moved.

AND so we were sitting there in transfer meeting which was huge because it was the whole mission pretty much. and president day sang to us, and the missionaries going home said their testimony... and so did president and sister day and we have this powerpoint... that says where everyone is going... it goes by zone.... and so we were going through... and i hadn't really thought about it.... but i looked up at the taidong zone and there was sister giles picture and i was like... what if my picture shows up next to her's? and then. boom. it did. and because she wasn't there at transfer meeting, i could get up and give her a hug, so i just hugged sister lindsay. and it was crazy. i was just shocked. what? going back down to the east coast??

and so that adventure began....

so we went to transfer meeting... and yup. i knew that i was going... but had no idea where.. i was hoping that i would stay close in taipei or taoyuan... but no... i went to the furthest part of our mission... from taipei it is about 6 hour train ride.... but we split it up... on friday (transfer day) we took the train down to hualian!!! my first area!! it was a totally weird kinda flashback....... got to go around my area that night... and i had actually left a few things in the apartment that i could pick up haha, and then in the morning went to the same park for exercise and got the same food for breakfast. it was so good. amazing. i was just blown away. that i was there a year ago.... approximately. wow. anyway... woke up... got ready and went back to the train station..............

SO NOW I AM IN TAIDONG!!! one of the most beautiful places in taiwan. it is great. but all of taiwan is beautiful. but this is on the east coast. and it is paradise. haha. AND SO FLAT> ahah

here are some pics of the train ride!!!!!!!!!!

LOOK!!! i am back with sister tate!!! sister tate is here too... we are in the same zone again!!! woohoo!!! so happy (:(: my new companion is sister giles she is from pleasantville utah.... and she is so fun!!! we were at byu together.. but again didn't know her before... so crazy. she was actually in mykaela's ward....

we are having a great time!! i love it (:(: i am happy and even though change is hard. it is good. and i love my mission. and i only have 4 transfers left. and that freaks me out.
I am really excited for this next little bit. I really love my companion. We have only been together... for 3 days! But it has been great, we really are learning a lot together. we are co-da... which means we are co senior. and so we just are learning so much!! wow!!!

I am so happy. And we have seen so many miracles! In my past area we have found some really great investigators that are preparing to be baptized, so sad that I had to leave that.... But a miracle I have seen in my new area, is getting to meet so many amazing humble people that are open and ready for the gospel. It really is amazing. I am so excited for this week! This area is having a baptism! So exciting to see the work keep going wherever you go.

Recently I have been thinking about how of course we all have our individual missions... but we really are ONE mission. We work together and every week when we have baptisms all over the mission it is all of ours. We are team Jesus and we are all influence each other. Everyone has a little part in each effort. And no effort is wasted.

Some goals that we have had with our challenges this week is to do better with our time management. We really want to use our time well, and sprint to the end.

Oh man, in jilong... i was so fit. the hills.....i was in such good shape... haha, at transfer meeting sister wood and sister tan were like, you lost weight!! so funny. but i am flattered. haha. just so everyone knows. haha if you can't tell based on those rice cheeks they have gotten lessened.... ghaha

HERE IS MY LAST PIC WITH PRESIDENT AND SISTER DAY. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also love you all!!! have a good one (:(: will be tan by next email time... or burnt.... i guesss we will see haha.

love, sister walker

i love jilong!! i don't want to leave... but transfer day is coming up... we will see what happens.
here are some amazing member's and our investigator tony!!! tony is getting baptized... he just needs to stop drinking tea. he is totally addicted. haha (:(: but its ok. because tea is a very very small problem (: COMPARED TO GOD'S POWER its a piece of cake. (:

ALSO!!! something amazing happened!!!!!!!

Last weekend... Hualian... my first area became a STAKE!!!!!!!!!! Our mission is the only one in the Asia area to have no more districts. wow. so cool.

please read..................................................................................From President Day...
Anciently, the prophet Daniel prophesied of a “the stone [that] was cut out of the mountain without hands.” [Daniel 2:45]

We know through modern revelation that this stone refers to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  In D&C 65:22 we read:

“The keys of the kingdom of God are committed unto man on the earth, and from thence shall the gospel roll forth unto the ends of the earth, as the stone which is cut out of the mountain without hands shall roll forth, until it has filled the whole earth.”

We are part of this work.  We are rolling “the stone.”

The rolling of that “stone” saw the “keys of the kingdom” come to Hualien this weekend.
On behalf of myself and Sister Day, as well as all of the Saints in the new Hualien Stake, we thank every single missionary who played any part, no matter how great or small, in helping this historical event to take place.

On June 21, 2015—a day never to be forgotten in the Taiwan Taipei Mission—the last member district became a Stake of Zion.  The Saints there now have a “refuge from the storm” with all necessary priesthood keys.  They now have a High Priest Quorum with functioning high priests to further bless the lives of the Saints.  Upon approval from the Quorum of the Twelve, they will have a patriarch who can bless the Saints through patriarchal blessings. What a major event in the history of Taiwan.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:(:(:
sorry no time to write (:(:
