OUR AIR CONDITIONING IS FIXED!!!!!!

we were dying. for like 3 weeks. but we made it through. the next studies that we had... the next day... we had to get our blankets out. (: haha but anyway... funny story about that too. our window didn't open big enough for them to put the unit outside... so being taiwanese.... they rip out the window.... and put some 2X4's underneath the unit... and put some plexi glass around it... and then calk it all together. what???. we don't care. but it is funny. ha.

Also!!! i totally... weirdly saw my mtc teacher this week!

ALSO! SISTER LINDSAY AND I HAVE A REALLLY BAD MANGO ADDICTION> WE EAT AT LEAST ONE EVERYDAY. a typical day includes....

BREAKFAST: cut up a mango.

LUNCH: Get a mango smoothie

DINNER: get some mango snow ice.

I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS THAT HEALTHY. probably. not. we cut ourselves back to just the one at breakfast... haha!!! and then we take pictures.... sometimes we put it in the freezer and look at the cool effects (:hahaha

yes, i took that picture (:;

ALSO!!!!!!!!! SHARON PASSED HER BAPTISMAL INTERVIEW!!! she is sooo great!

She is such a prepared little girl. She loves repenting and has got the word of wisdom down. I love working with her because it reminds me how we are suppose to be like little children. We are suppose to be innocent. Well, Jesus said be like a little child. We are trying everyday to be that innocent. Sister Lindsay and I got a chance to do temple tours this week. And we love showing people the picture with jesus and the book of mormon children. So tender. I know that being baptized and having the gift of the holy ghost will bless her life so much (:(: she was so happy afterward!!!

I will send her pictures next week... :)))))
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! hope you had a good one. and don't drink tea. even if you unknowingly order it (:(: haha. story of my life.

LOVE sister walker (:

DEAREST MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!(:(:

i am doing prety good. it was a great week!!! sharon is getting baptized next week and we need to push sister chen's date back. she is ready. we just need to work with her and her family because her husband is like really against her like going to church.... and apparently she has been reading the book of mormon in secret like at night. well, i mean that is good. but not good. we took them a pineapple and we are slowly and slowly going to have the husband give his permission for her to come to church and then they can all start meeting with us (:(: yay for family!!!

i have realized that families are the hardest. but i know that they are the best. we all want to find the family and baptize them because that is the best situation. and i know that sister lai's family will accept the gospel.... her husband brings her every sunday to church... he is starting to meet church members... and slowly and slowly..... he is also going to come to. we just need to love them. love is the answer.

and same with sharon's family... they use to all meet with us together.. but because of some stuff... it is only sharon right now. but her brothers are seeing her example and they love the book of mormon too.

so happy. we took sharon's family a pineapple too (:(:

lOVE YOU SO MUCH. you are so great. i love you!!!(:(:

AND WE WALKED

TO THE BEACH.

AND THAT WAS LAST PDAY.

THE DAY BEGAN WITH A FUEL UP OF MANGO SMOOTHIE.

AND THEN WE TOOK LOTS OF SELFIES ON THE WAY>

AND FINALLY WE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:(:(:(: wow. there is only one beach in jilong.... and we took the longest most painful way to get there.....

and that is why you do not trust tourist maps. just do the missionary way and ride your bike. please. the map said take the bus.... the bus doesn't go on monday.... the lady said take this other one and walk and we were already so frustrated we just did it. so we took the 30 minute bus ride..... and then we walked an hour..... and then we made it to the beach for approx 30 minutes... and then we got some chocolate toast and walked an hour back and took the 30 minute bus and then that was pday.
and that is that.

but we had fun and made memories and that is all that matters (:(:

We have been seeing some awesome miracles. and i have learned a very real principle that obedience and diligence and success and miracles and happiness and grace are all really connected.

We are working for our Sister Chen and Sharon to get baptized this month(: It is so exciting. I just want to make sure that they are ready. And understand. But we also have to have faith and hope, that we all did our part and we just need to teach them how to rely on Christ. and having peace that we did right.

I LOVE TAIWAN. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE>

It is also super crazy and oddly trunky when all the missionaries you know are leaving..... and president and sister day are leaving too..... we are getting a new mission president... and are going to have a lot of changes..... i am expecting at least. exciting to see!!! so happy that i have been in jilong for this long (:(:

haha, there was  a point when i really thought that jilong was the land of my affliction... and my child born in the wilderness (that is you sister tate) and i prayed that i would get one more. one more transfer. my wish has come true and I LOVE JILONG AND THESE PEOPLE> I LOVE BEING ON  A MISSION>I WOULD NEVER EVER TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE> not even for watching movies... or listening to music... or going shopping when i want to... or sleeping, or being with my family and my friends and going to school or going on vacation.

BECAUSE i read this scripture in the scriptures... somewhere. that i just remembered that is really good. it goes something like this...... that treasure up for yourself treasures in heaven... and death is the portal to your mansion...to all that you have prepared... and it isn't things. it is souls. and when we are in heaven all we are going to care about is who is with us and who isn't. and it will be the happiest day when we are all in the celestial kingdom together. and i get 6 more months to help JESUS SAVE SOULS>

also. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:(: keep on being amazing. i am so grateful for all of my friends and family. and we will be together soon, but until then..................

加油!!!! (add some oil and keep working)

LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:

hello. this week was soooo good.

we are just having a party. also. update. it stopped raining and got really really really hot. also. our air conditioning is broken. so there it is. we are staying alive. we are just really really sweaty.
and. also we had a great pday last week. we planned to go to the keelung sign and we did... but then we still had like 2 more hours... so i was like i heard of this place once and you could see it from the mountain. and so we were just like. lets do this adventure. so we just started riding our bikes... and i figured if we didn't make it... thats ok. but we did!! and it was so great. we made it to the bai mi weng fort. it was so cool!!!and here is us jumping for joy. (:(:

another funny thing... we were knocking the other day... and we left our bikes in this one place and we saw a little pray mantis.... it was so sweet! and by the time that we got back... it had climbed up into my bike.... and i was like... we need to go now... so i just started riding and it stayed on. it was our cute little friend. he stayed on all day.... (:(: haha we named him hulk. so great (:

this week was absolutely amazing. all we have is our faith to power us and we worked so hard. we saw miracles.

Sharon and Sister Chen came to church!! wow!!! both of them!!! so great. so happy. it was wonderful. They are hoping to get baptized in the next few weeks. that is the plan!! so great. I love them. The spirit works so strongly. Sister Chen is from china... and she is so humble. she knows that she has weaknesses but she trusts in the lord so much. she feels the spirit and has been reading the book of mormon and she is so great. she brought her cute little daughter to church too, they had to stay in primary together. but im sure it was so great. because through songs and sharing and stuff you learn the basics of the gospel and feel the spirit. that is all you need. Also. Sharon is 9 and she is great. she is doing so good, praying and trusting in Heavenly Father. I love her. she has such a hard life, having the Holy Ghost with her will really bless her (:(:

So happy!!! We are seeing miracles! God loves His children.

Also. we saw another miracle... we were contacting on the street and my amazing companion went to go give this lady an english tract... and i followed... gave the guy next to her one... and he turns out to be a less active. he said that he got baptized into our church and has been reading the book of mormon.... he hasn't seen the missionaries in 5 years and since he has moved to jilong.... he didn't know that jilong had the church. he was so excited to hear that it was actually really close!!! so cool. and a miracle less active lesson that we had planned to have but knew it was going to be a miracle and it was. wow. he is coming to english class on wednesday

love the gospel. keep on being great. love you all!!!(:(:
sister walker

more pics.
of the sweatyness and the pday!!!

we celebrated my year mark with cake (:(: also... more from pday (:...

here is the service that we do at the hospital... we draw with little kids who are waiting to see the doctor... we also do origami!! (:(:

we got yummy snow cone stuff. it was so good. it is frozen chocolate shaved. and then we put peanut sauce on it and added these squishy things and taro and sweet potatoe. so good. yum!!!(:(:
this new convert (:(: she is so sweet. crazy. we had to give her to the elders to be taught because we were in the hospital with sister price (: she is so great though, she loved missioning with us.

this is a dragon fruit. its doesnt taste like anything but it sure is pretty!

WOW!!! another transfer in JILONG!!!

well, there it is. i am staying for another transfer!!! so crazy... this is the area i have been in for the longest!!! it will be 6 months to end this transfer.

ALSO> I HIT MY YEAR MARK ON THURSDAY>>>>>>>> WOW>

So everyone!! send me some advice!!! I only have 6 months left! And i want to make it the best. I really have seen my testimony, and faith and love grow so much over the past few months.... well YEAR>

ALSO< I have a new companion!!! HER NAME IS SISTER LINDSAY> and I know. that is CRAZY>
SO yaa, right now it is sister lindsay and walker hahaha!!! what are the chances??? weird!!!

With transfers over and with a new companion. We really have a lot of hope and faith! I know that as we trust in the Lord all the miracles are going to come that we will not even have room to receive them! So exciting!
Jilong is doing really great, of course it is raining, but we are just finding people in their houses with their families now! It is so great, we are going to find those families! Some miracles that we have seen have come from doing finding and also meeting with our recent convert. She is doing so great and her testimony just keeps growing. It is so cool to see that as she has accepted the gospel she has seen so many changes in her life. And it is so cool that it all just comes naturally from Jesus Christ. She is saying how her personality to not fight with her teenage daughter has changed, how she is doing more service for her older parents and how it is so different from before. Amazing.

THAT IS THE POWER OF GOD MY FRIENDS.

well, like i said, it has been raining... and we are in the middle of the rainest city in taiwan. so we are soaked. all the time!!!(:(:(:

woot woot! love you all!! and share a Book of Mormon with a friend. pray to God and He will provide a way. Please don't be shy. WE NEED TO MOVE THE GOSPEL ALONG! TAKE IT TO EVERYONE (:(:

also. tell me how to get people to come to church?!?

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!! sister walker (:

here is transfer meeting!!! ps. i was sick... but now i am all better ((: thanks for your prayers!!!!

ALSO!!!!!!!!!! we went to the zoo!!!!!!!

i will be letting you know what happens this next week..... i really don't know who will be going?
but nevertheless we got a picture with the whole relief society!! haha(:

Also... this is from Mission President's email to us today.......

President Hinckley’s words are as profound today as they were when he said them: “Now, my brethren and sisters, the time has come for us to stand a little taller, to lift our eyes and stretch our minds to a greater comprehension and understanding of the grand millennial mission of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a season to be strong. It is a time to move forward without hesitation, knowing well the meaning, the breadth, and the importance of our mission. It is a time to do what is right regardless of the consequences that might follow. It is a time to be found keeping the commandments. It is a season to reach out with kindness and love to those in distress and to those who are wandering in darkness and pain. It is a time to be considerate and good, decent and courteous toward one another in all of our relationships. In other words, to
become more Christlike.”

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!! (:

me in the rain (:(: yay!

here was may's zone conference. crazies!!!

ITS A SHORTY!

sorry. but important things only.

SISTER LAI GOT BAPTIZED> she is great.

also, we went spelunking on pday.
also, we are going to the zoo today. also check out this story that my old companion sister anderson sent to me...........

"there was a man who would draw water for his family in 2 pots. One pot was new and would hold the water beautifully. The other was cracked and leaked the water. The pot was ashamed and told the man "I only come home with half the water you fill me with, your children will go thirsty" the man said "next time look at the path." He had planted seeds and the leaky pot would water them as he walked. It reminds me that God knows our imperfections. While we should work on our weaknesses, we shouldn't get down about them. So keep on keeping on! You're doing amazing things :) "

also, it is very true.

LOVE YOU ALL. sister walker

Sister Lai

We went to this cave :) It was sweet :) :)

IT WAS A WEEK.

we went on exchanges with our awesome sister training leaders!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Sister Guo. She is so amazing and she always makes me feel good when i am around her. I love exchanges, because you always see so many miracles!!! We met so many people and had so many crazy experiences in the less than 24 hour time period we were together. It was so fun. We came into the mission field at the same time together so it is fun that even though we are having different experiences, that we still get to be connected. the relationships you develop on the mission are forever and that is so exciting. i love it!

Ok, so, long story to a short story.....
1. sister Lai's baptism was cancelled, when she didn't answer our calls, because she wasn't home..... but finally we got a hold of her because we found her husband's self phone number miraculously! She said that she couldn't get baptized because there was something important that she had to do. We didn't understand.
2. We called the bishop 30 minutes before to let everyone know.
3. it was really sad because the ward members said things like, "i knew she wasn't ready" "she doesn't have enough faith" "we already filled up the baptismal font and now we have to let the water out" etc.
4. We were feeling kinda down, but church the next day really helped. You really can feel God's love at church, and so many other ward members were really supportive saying, "God thinks you are still a great missionary, because you did the right, you taught her the gospel, it is her responsibility now"
5.  we were grateful that it happened before her baptism and not after. She said that she couldn't come to church too. We still called her the next day though and she said we could go over at night, we got our ward mission leader to come with us. And there she was, just as happy as ever to see us, we gave her these huge hugs and she said, I am so sorry I fanged you!! We sat down and started talking, she said that with her family something came up that was just as important. Her niece had died in a car accident and the other day they had to help with everything. WOW. She said that it was fine, and they weren't that close. But then she started to cry because she was so touched that we were there visiting her, that some of the members had called and asked how she was doing and that Christ was helping her through this hard time. She said, just give me a few days to get everything ready and let things settle down. She said, but I do have time tomorrow to get baptized. She really is ready and the spirit testified to my heart that the things that we are doing are right, and that it isn't according to our time table. I believe that as we work hard this week that we can get her family to come to her baptism, who original said that they didn't want to come.
6. SHE IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY. The picture below is her so happy for her new baptismal calendar!! even though it is only a week long and we have already shared with her all the lessons (: haha, she cried for joy (:
I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:

and there it is. and it is not about us. and all we have to do is trust in God. and even though we may doubt. we keep relying on the things we know. and we pray and we read our scriptures and go to church and we get over it through Christ's help (:

I read in Jacob 5:21 to the end.

I love 21 and 22. it says.....
"And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master: How comest thou hither to plant this tree, or this branch of the tree? For behold, it was the poorest spot in all the land of thy vineyard. And the Lord of the vineyard said unto him: Counsel me not; I knew that it was a poor spot of ground; wherefore, i said unto thee, i have nourished it this long time, and thou beholdest that it hath brought forth much fruit."

And sometimes that is how I feel. Maybe that is how all of us feel... Being on the mission I have felt more happiness, and more sorrow, and I have never been more confident and I have never been more aware of my weaknesses. But the Lord knows. He loves us. And all we have to do is rely on His power. It is his work. and we do not counsel him. He knows. He didn't leave us, He never left Sister Lai and he did not leave jilong. And He won't ever. (:

ON A CRAZY SIDE NOTE>>>>>
we have a crazy former investigator. she said, i got you a gift!!! It is so important to your church and it was printed in America, and it is even more important than the book of mormon because it is newer. And i was thinking in my head "I doubt that".... but anyway..... here it is......

a book written by the fundamentalist LDS church.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I DID NOT READ IT. even though i was curious (: thanks to sister tate, i refrained my self (: haha.

ANYWAY> HERE IT IS>

i am sorry that i keep confusing which day i am going to the temple. it is actually next week!!! so next week i will be emailing on wednesday and we also get to go to the zoo!!!(:(: so exciting!!!

LOTS OF LOVE. read your scriptures. they are great. trust God. love everyone. (:
